Show Your Marks. Every mark has a story. Every scar, every tattoo, every birthmark tells a story about our lives. Whether funny, serious, tragic or just crazy, the marks we bear speak of an event that has shaped who we are and who we are becoming.

We all love stories. ShowYourMarks.com is a place to share stories with other people like you...people with marks and stories to tell about them. While you're here, take some time to read the stories, look at the pictures and show your own marks.

My Story
I got this at my first Tattoo convention and it was the complete opposite of what I had expected to get that day. The artist had suggested this stand up bass. I already knew what I wanted but he really seemed passionate about doing this sort of style so I swallowed my conscience and gave the go ahead. The end result, this beautifull skillfully crafted stand up - 50's style wooden bass, sketched just right to reflect the light in such a manner that any way you turn it against the light, you see it just right. I am addicted to tattoos and this is my third. I plan on having many more.

My Story
I was a Firefighter in Maryland until 2004 when I moved to Florida. I was at the Trade Centers from 9/11/01 to 9/21/01 doing rescue and recovery during that time. This tattoo is a compilation of things I saw and experienced during this horrific event. It is also a tribute to the 343 brothers and sisters I lost on 9/11/2001. Never forget!

My Story
I have several tattoos, but no mark has been as significant as this scar. This scar is the worst of 7 stab wounds from an attack almost 11 years ago. Those wounds made me appreciate my life and how close I came to losing it that night. I've taken nothing for granted since that day.

My Story
I got my tattoo last summer after returning from Africa. The stick man that is reaching out his arms and legs behind the fish is actually a Berber Symbol that stands for, "FREE MAN." When reading the tattoo it says that I am, "A free man saved by grace through Jesus Christ our Lord" (the fish is actually going through the man to better exemplify the meaning! This tattoo is very special to me not only cause its a great reminder that I am saved but also because of how I am became saved. The tattoo has three different languages Tashlahate (Berber), Hebrew, and English

My Story
My tattoo is my promise to God for two things. The first is never to cut myself ever again. I used to use cutting as a way with dealing with hard situations and God has helped me overcome that. The second is a promise to never give up on God no matter what my circumstance may be. I've seen too many people give up on God when things got hard, and I've even done that. But I decided that everything I go through will all be worth it in the end when I see my savior face to face!
